Il nostro Paese terzo dietro Francia, Coldiretti: italiani primi consumatori in Europa
La Germania ha battuto uno a zero l'Italia per la produzione ed esportazione di gelato in Europa, confermandosi come il primo produttore del continente. Con 612 milioni di litri, la Germania è seguita dalla Francia con 568 milioni e dall'Italia con 527. Nonostante il gelato sia uno dei simboli del made in Italy, il nostro Paese si trova sul gradino più basso del podio europeo. I dati dell'Eurostat relativi al 2023 mostrano una diminuzione della produzione rispetto all'anno precedente, quando l'Italia aveva prodotto 571 milioni di litri. Per quanto riguarda le esportazioni, il gelato francese è il più richiesto al di fuori dell'Europa, con 52 milioni di chili esportati nel 2023. Secondo Coldiretti, gli italiani sono i primi consumatori di gelato in Europa. Negli Stati Uniti e in Australia, invece, sono i più golosi a livello mondiale. Tra i gusti preferiti, il cioccolato si conferma al primo posto, seguito da nocciola, limone crema, stracciatella e pistacchio. Nonostante il caldo torrido degli ultimi anni, il gelato rimane una golosità apprezzata anche dagli animali negli zoo.
